E-Health seminar to map out strategy and framework for Zimbabwe

The University of Zimbabwe (UZ) College of Health Sciences (HITRAC) will this month ( 28 June, 2012) hold an e-health seminar with the aim of devising a strategy and framework for maintaining continuity of care through electronic systems in Zimbabwe.

The University of Zimbabwe (UZ) College of Health Sciences (HITRAC) will this month ( 28 June, 2012) hold an e-health seminar with the aim of devising a strategy and framework for maintaining continuity of care through electronic systems in Zimbabwe.

According to a UZ spokesperson the seminar will be held under the theme E-Health and the patient: building a framework for patient care in the electronic era.

The seminar will also focusing on health consumers and health practitioners including doctors, pharmacists, lab scientists, the private sector, NGOs, the World Health Organisation, the National Aids Council (NAC), the government ministries responsible for ICT and transport, the  Zimbabwe Nurses Association (ZINA) the Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ) and other service providers.

The UZ spokesperson added that other issues that will be deliberated on include introduction of e-Health, electronic medical systems, discussion on standards in electronic health systems, policy issues on electronic data, medical aid and electronic systems, private sector and electronic systems and the future of health care in Zimbabwe.
